Alweer een boek uit. Gaat best hard, met die e-Reader. Nou ja, ligt ook aan het boek natuurlijk. Dit was Raven Flight het 2e deel van Shadowfell, de reeks van Juliet Marillier. Erg mooi, maar wel typisch een middendeel in wat meen ik een trilogie gaat worden. Dus ik moest er eerst weer even in komen en vervolgens werd het afgesloten met een open eind.

De vraag is, wat nu? Doctor Sleep van Stephen King misschien? Die kreeg goeie recensies her en der. Of misschien toch nog wat non-fiction tussendoor. Hm, lastig.

Onlangs begonnen in Seer of Sevenwaters. Dit is het vijfde deel van de Sevenwaters trilogie van Juliet Marillier. Nou ja, niet echt meer een trilogie. Volgend jaar komt het 6e deel uit, dus eigenlijk 2 trilogieen, maar goed. Dit deel is een afgeleide van de Selkie-legende en weer net zo prachtig als de eerdere delen, waaraan ik overigens onlangs mijn moeder verslaafd heb gemaakt. :-)

I've taken the week off. Catching up on both my sleep and my reading. I recently bought Juliet Marillier's The Dark Mirror, which is book 1 of The Bridei Chronicles. A nice way to escape the terrible heat, reading about pre-Celtic Scotland, with my feet in some ice water and the fan blowing in my face. I read all three parts of her Sevenwaters trilogy under similar circumstances last year. Might become tradition. ;-)

Had the afternoon off. Spend some time browsing the library. I'd even made a list, since I'm usually wandering around the place for to long. I was hoping to get Rosalind Miles' Tristan and Isolde trilogy, but the first part wasn't available. The same goes for J. V. Jones' Sword of Shadows series and the A Song of Ice and Fire series by George R.R. Martin. Well, just not my lucky day for series apparently. Maybe next time.

I finally gathered a few books and narrowed it down to the following two: Pillar of the Sky (A Novel of Stonehenge) by Cecelia Holland and The Horses at the Gate by Mary L. Mackey.

I was also hoping to get my hands on the new Julliet Marillier (The Dark Mirror: Book One of the Bridei Chronicles), but that wasn't available yet. I read her Sevenwaters Trilogy around this time last year and am curious about her new work. Might see if I can find it at the bookstore tomorrow.
