Brian

Pasen, dus een mooie gelegenheid om lekker Life of Brian weer eens te kijken. Al zo oud, maar nog steeds even briljant. Om de IMDb trivia te citeren:

The Pythons all seem to agree that they were at their peak with this film. They wrote in beautiful surroundings by the sea; Graham Chapman had finally dried out and no longer had the DTs, nor did he have to get sloshed to appear focused; there were no last-minute directorial changes as in "Holy Grail"; they filmed in a location with very agreeable weather (unlike "Holy Grail"); and they all feel that this was their best writing effort.

Library

Just got back from the library. Spend more time that I'd planned picking out something interesting to read next. I'm a bit disappointed with the current offerings, especially in the SciFi section. I'd seen all kinds of interesting books at the store, which I would like to read but was unable to find at the library. I finally decided upon White As Snow by Tanith Lee and House Atreides, because I'd never gotten round to reading the Dune prequels. That should keep me going during the upcoming Easter weekend.

Easter rant

I was doing fine for the biggest part of the day, but just as I was about to leave the office it began to rain. Needed some groceries, but upon arriving at the store I noticed they'd moved lots of stuff around. Why do they always feel a need to do that? Just to f*ck with my head? Ofcourse I couldn't find a bunch of things that were on my shopping list. And don't get me started on the whole Easter doctrine that began a few weeks ago, with huge displays of chocolate eggs and strange items suddenly on offer. Disturbing.

When I finally got home, the bill for my recent dental work had arrived, it's a whopping € 670. This is not a good day. Oh, ignore me. Things are good. The shopping's in, I'll probably be able to claim a large chunck of the dentist bill on my insurance. Time to prepare the nice juicy steak I just bought and relax in front of the tv. :-)
