Alice In Chains
I'm just playing some Jar Of Flies, trying to unwind before bed. I just got back from Amsterdam, where I attended the Alice in Chains show at Melkweg.

Don't you just love it when you come home and there are goodies waiting on the doormat? I ordered bandshirts recently, a black one (what else..) with the Sisters of Mercy logo and another one for Alice in Chains.
I also ordered CDs, but that's a different experience. These I already found online, so the anticipation I usually had before the arrival of new material is gone. I do still buy the releases from a select list of bands though. To show support I guess, and because I just like to own the originals of my favourite bands. This round I got the new Opeth - Watershed (Special edition), Moonspell - Night Eternal and Tiamat - Amanethes.
Taped the shows from Rock-am-Ring 2006, which aired on Rockpalast on the German WDR station last night. Watched the entire performances by both Metallica and Alice In Chains.
The latter performed with their new vocalist William DuVall. Metallica's James Hetfield also performed "Would?" with Alice in Chains, which was a nice effort, but mostly proved what a great voice Layne really had. More preformaces will be show tonight and tomorrow night.
Sad news for this otherwise pleasent sunday evening. Alice in Chains singer died of natural causes or overdose. Sigh. This saddens me deeply. I love Alice In Chains and was still hoping to see them perform live someday. Very sad news. There's a tribute on AliceInChains.net in case you want to share your thoughts. Other bits of info can be found on the MTV website.
