Paradise Lost

Strange how it's taken me until 2007 to see the entire triumvirate (ha, I've wanted to use that word for ages!) of Doom metal in the same year. First My Dying Bride in Paradiso in April, yesterday Paradise Lost in Tivoli and Anathema opening for Porcupine Tree later this year in December.

So, Paradise Lost. I've been a fan since I've discovered Draconian Times and despite a few albums that didn't really do anything for me, I really feel they're back to they're old form since the release of 2005s self-titled album. So I was really looking forward to this show.

Didn't really see much of opener Neurosonic, but caught most of Waldemar Sorychta's Eyes of Eden. I wasn't really impressed with their performance, also because I wasn't familiar with the material. After their set, it was finally time for the main event. They played a nice mix of classics like one of my favourites "As I die" (the audience got to choose between Gothic" and "As I die"), "Enchantment" (from Draconian Times) and material from the new album. All in all a great night out!
