So I gave myself an ultimatum, if it hadn't gone before 10:00 this morning, I'd make an appointment with the doctor (my local GP in Hazerswoude) for the afternoon. That way, I could still go to work in the morning. Ofcourse, reality checked in when my doctor's assistant told me over the phone, that the practise is closed on tuesday afternoons. But I could be added to the list at 10:30. Ofcourse I could never make it with the bus, but my colleague Grozdana was kind enough to drive me. Unfortunately the doctor couldn't see anything and arranged for me to go to the Throat, Nose and Ear clinique ('polikliniek keel-, neus- en oorheelkunde') in the Elizabeth Hospital in Leiderdorp. So we had to go all the way back to Leiderdorp, practiacally where we started from. Great. Fortunatelly the doctor there could see the bone and removed it with a pair of tweezers. It had been stuk in my right toncil. It was a thin piece of bone, about 2 centimeters long. Sigh of relief. That felt much better, and now I am home again. I'll go back to work tomorrow. And I'm pretty sure I won't be having fish for dinner tonight.
