Hitchhiker’s Guide

Just watched the trailer for the new The Hitchhiker’s Guide to the Galaxy movie. Martin Freeman (who played Tim in The Office) seems like a good choice to play Arthur Dent. The UK release is in April, but it’s not due for release here in The Netherlands untill August. I just don’t get that. Hopefully it’ll be available online long before then. Anyhow, try the IMDb for more info. Or read the book by Douglas Adams.

Weekend activities

My brother is doing the half marathon of Alphen aan den Rijn as I’m writing this. Good luck against those elephants, to quote some Blackadder.

Despite the remaining snow I went into town yesterday. Wanted to check out the sale at V&D, but that was disappointing as always. Did get my hands on the After Dark DVD by Type O Negative. And I bought Unfinished Tales: The Lost Lore of Middle-earth and The Letters of J.R.R. Tolkien, both by J.R.R. Tolkien ofcourse, which were on offer for €5 each.

More snow!

And then March is here again. Time flies. Can’t believe my birthday is in two weeks already. Hurah! Also, there’s more snow falling now since this winter began. (Update: apparently it’s now more than there has been since 1971) Some great snow photos on from the northern parts of the country.

And then there’s news of Yahoo, who have made their services available for developers with their Web Services. And it’s their tenth anniversary today. Via O’Reilly and now on Slashdot.
